boniface had a thought about the folks who cannot access my sites. Is your browser enabled to view CSS and Javascript? There should be some sort of Preferences option that you can check.

It's still got lots of tweaking, and no links are on the menu yet, but here's the first attempt at something resembling a real web site, leaving the frames behind. The page that "Click here" leads to is not yet set up in the new template, so don't judge that one. Just check out the first page.

The color scheme will be changing (font, background). Content suggestions welcome.

Oh, wait, not exactly. "Suspended her campaign." Which means she's still legally a candidate, still keeps her delegates, etc. So in case something were to happen before the nomination, or all the superdelegates suddenly had a change of heart, she'd be right there.

Most of her speech consisted of a "oh, I was there for women, for the oppressed; look how well we did before with a Democratic President (Bill); yadda yadda me me yadda yadda me.

Oh, and BTW, Obama's an OK guy and we should get behind him. Rah rah.

Our Lycian Altar

Well, we've got our Triple Crown contender for this year, Big Brown, who won by 4 3/4 lengths. But the moment was tempered with sorrow, as 2nd-place filly Eight Belles had to be euthanized on the track after breaking her two front ankles about a 1/4 mile past the finish line.

Thoroughbred, high-strung and unfortunately, much more delicate than they look. You both ran a grand race - I'm sorry that it had to be mixed in with such a tragedy.

Pagan Books: Why Dumb It Down?

Yes, I know, I've loaded up several in a short period of time. But it's a new toy, and I've had a few good hair days. ;)

Thanks to the lovely threeandnine from LJ, I compressed a YouTube video to approximately 26MB while still maintaining a decent quality. So, here's the latest upload.

Yesterday's party went great - Alex got a new MP3 player which is currently attached to her, and we got to see Catherine's European pictures.

The quality is a bit grainy, so I'm not sure how it will show up on other people's computers, but not bad for a first attempt using a digital camera. Since now we have a better idea of how to edit in iMovies, the next one should have a much sharper image. At least, that's the plan. ;)

In watching my test videos, if I decide to keep a collection, there will be plenty of material for a blooper reel down the line. :P

What a wide range of intellect can be found on YouTube. Everything from thoughtful, measured statements to profanity-laden rants. I'm learning which persons are prolific, controversial, stick-poking, reasoned..... Just about every age range, and a huge store of misconceptions about what Wiccans and pagans are and aren't. This time around, it seems a wise decision to browse a while and check out the YouTube infrastructure before uploading.

It will be quite interesting what response my videos will receive. I just hope I don't come across like Skeletor on film. ;) I've noticed that camera videos tend to film slightly compressed, making my already-lean face even more so.

Found out that my Canon takes great, relatively clear video and audio. Figured out how to put it in iMovies for editing. Now to find the best place in the house for lighting that doesn't suck, and where to put the tripod. Then I have to work out how to compress it for the web. And finally, make my first upload!

You will be gratified to note that I deleted the test video of Boni's feet and singing accompaniment while he was figuring out the video function.

Should I come up with a creative name overall ("Musings of a Middle-Aged Witch" or something), or just let each one's name speak for itself?

OK, so I'm looking forward to a new hobby. Longtime readers know how I mull over my latest obsessions.
